Editing a Recurring Cost in Lumio
Lumio automatically detects recurring costs like bills, subscriptions, direct debits, and scheduled payments. You can review these suggestions, add your own, or amend them at any time.
Examples of Recurring Costs
Bills – Gas, electricity, water, broadband, council tax
Subscriptions – Netflix, Prime, Spotify, Apple Music
Direct debits – Rent, mortgage, debt repayments
Scheduled payments – Savings transfers, credit card repayments
How to amend or edit a Recurring Cost
You can edit recurring costs in either your Private Space or Shared Space.
Go to the Spending tab.
Select the Recurring Costs widget.
Under My Recurring Costs, choose the payment you want to edit.
You’ll see the details of that recurring cost. From here you can:
Change Frequency – how often the payment occurs (e.g. monthly, weekly).
Change Starting Date – update when Lumio should begin tracking it.
Change Category – reassign it to the correct category (e.g. Bills, Entertainment).
Scroll down to see Previous Payments for that merchant.
Removing a Recurring Cost
If you no longer want Lumio to track a payment as recurring:
Tap Remove as a Recurring Cost (in red at the bottom of the screen).
Confirm your choice.
The payment will be removed from your Recurring Costs list.
Adding a Recurring Cost manually
If Lumio doesn’t detect a recurring payment, you can add it yourself:
Go to the Spending tab.
Open the Recurring Costs widget and tap Details.
Tap Add new (top right).
Select the transaction you want to mark as recurring.
Confirm the frequency (e.g. monthly) and starting date.
Tap Add to Recurring Costs.
👉 If you’d like to share it with your partner, you can share the recurring cost to your Shared Space just like any other transaction.
✅ With Recurring Costs in Lumio, you’ll always have a clear view of your upcoming bills, subscriptions, and regular payments — and the flexibility to edit or remove them anytime.
