Lumio is designed for couples, so helping couples connect and manage a Joint accounts is critical.
When you connect and link your joint account to Lumio, all the transactions from both of the cardholders will be included in your spending and analytics. Most couples do not want to see Joint account spending in your personal space, so we suggest you link your Joint account to your Shared Space.
There are 3 key steps with Joint accounts with Lumio:
Connect the Joint account
Mark the account as 'Joint'
Link the Joint account to your Shared Space.
When you connect, mark and share your Joint account to your Shared Space, Lumio will display your Joint account as a '3rd profile' - alongside you and your partner. This means you have a clear picture of where you stand, without the Joint Account spending distorting your spending breakdown. Just like the example below:
If you have already connected your Joint account but not yet marked it as a Joint Account - follow these steps:
Tap in the Space dropdown and select your Shared Space.
Go to the Accounts feed i.e Lumio Accounts page
Press & Hold your Joint Account in the list of accounts
Select 'Mark as Joint'
Confirm as 'Mark as a Joint Account'
Your Account should now be Marked as a Joint Account.
If you have not yet Connected, Marked or Linked your Joint account to your Shared Space, follow these steps:
Connecting & Marking your Joint account
Go to the Accounts feed i.e Lumio Accounts page
Tap Connect account at the bottom of your account balances
Select what bank or provider you'd like to add (i.e. Monzo, HSBC, Nutmeg) - you can see our full list of connections here.
Select Joint account or both (if you also want to connect a joint account at the same time).
Once your account is connected, mark which accounts are Joint accounts in the list of connected accounts.
Now follow the below to link your account to your Shared Space 👇
To link your Joint account to your Shared Space, follow these steps:
Go to the Home tab.
Select the spaces dropdown in the top left of the screen.
Select 'Settings' next to the space you want to link accounts to.
Tap 'Linked Accounts'.
Tick the boxes next to the accounts you want to link to your Shared Space.
It will say 'Account has been linked to Shared Space' at the top of the screen once complete.
