Adding a bank account

To add an account to Lumio, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab at the bottom of the screen i.e Lumio Accounts page

  2. Tap Connect account at the bottom of your account balances

  3. Select what bank or provider you'd like to add (i.e. Monzo, HSBC, Amex) - you can see our full list of connections here.

  4. Select the type of account you want to connect (Personal / Joint / Both) - so we can make sure we mark and track your spending fairly together.

    1. Can’t see your provider? Create an Offline account by selecting ‘Add an offline account’ at the top of the screen.

  5. Select 'Consent' to securely share your balance and transaction data with Lumio - this will take you to your bank app.

  6. In your bank app, confirm or select the accounts you want to connect to Lumio.

  7. You will then be re-directed to your Lumio app where the data will be pulled in - this should take no longer than 30 seconds, but can take up to 1 minute.

  8. Once your account is connected, you’ll have the opportunity to link the account to your shared space.

  9. And once all your data is loaded, you can start to add any recurring costs and share any shared expenses into your Shared Space.

If you are having problems connecting a bank account, feel free to contact us via our live chat and a member of the team will be happy to help you out.

You'll need to provide your consent for us to connect to your account via Moneyhub, and you'll then be redirected either to the website or app of your account provider to enter your credentials. We will never store your login credentials.

Once you've successfully entered your credentials, you'll be redirected to Lumio where you'll see this screen to let you know your account is connected for the next 90 days. After 90 days you'll need to reconnect your accounts. This is part of the Open Banking regulation that Lumio complies with.
